Mental Health Therapist Serving Santa Rosa & San Francisco CA
Ready to finally feel confident in your feelings and decisions?
On the outside it looks like you have it together, but inside the emotional waters are turbulent.
You want more for yourself, more joy and more grace. You want to learn how to slow down without getting swallowed up by overwhelm. You want to really enjoy your relationships without your thoughts spiraling or shutting down.
You’re already a caring friend and partner, but you're mean to yourself. Behind the meanness is the terrifying realization that you don’t really know how to help yourself. You’re ready for the help you need to learn how to turn toward yourself and understand what you need.
You’re in the right place
I’m Emilee and I help adults just like you, young adults, working professionals, parents: ones that have it within them to feel confident navigating emotions and centered in who they are, but just need the support to get there.
I help my clients feel comfortable being authentic, feel worthy of kindness and grace, and build boundaries to feel more balanced by equipping them with the tools they need to re-pattern their internal operating systems and navigate complicated life situations and relationships.
As an in-person or virtual therapist, you have an opportunity to integrate life changing therapy into your busy life, and from the comfort of your own home (or office, or car)! In person sessions are offered conveniently in Santa Rosa.
There are many different ways to support healing and change for problems like depression, anxiety, relationship issues and trauma, but not all of them get down to the heart of the issue. I use my extensive understanding of attachment (how we stay connected to ourselves and others) to work with the core of what you have been through and how its affecting you now.
Did you know that how we approach our relationships to ourselves and to others directly affects our anxiety and sense of wellbeing?
Our modern culture tends to try and solve every problem by logically thinking it through, however our body and felt sense have their own memory. This is why I integrate somatic tools into our work. By dropping into our body’s experience and knowledge and tuning into it, we can further work with your goals on the deepest level and invite lasting change. Through our work together you’ll be equipped to ride the waves of emotions with a greater compassion for yourself and change stuck patterns affecting your relationships.
You will notice that in the first or second session we drop right in to the work. I aim to offer in-the-moment healing experiences.
Have you ever been asked a simple question that brought up a wave of tears or a painful tightness in your throat? What you might do normally is “I’m sorry! I don’t know why I’m crying…or pretend your voice didn’t go up a couple of octaves…
But together with somatic tools, we can bring caring attention to what your body is saying. I might help you tune into that sensation, unlock a feeling, give you the support and tools you need to ride the experience until its completed and you can come to a better senes of yourself.
Together we would figure out what your body is saying that has been missed before, what is pleading to be healed, what needs to be metabolized, and what new roads are now open to you.
I am dedicated to helping people get centered, confident, and connected.
My training in attachment and somatic therapy means I have the expertise you need and deserve. I know it might feel risky to make an appointment. What if I don’t understand you? What if I don’t think your problems are worth my time? These fears are more normal than you think. I understand what its like to take this kind of risk. I’m here to say that you deserve the risk, what you are going through is worth both of our time, and I’ll be here whenever you are ready.
You are who and and how you are for a good reason. I approach this kind of work with a sense of respect for all parts of you and we won’t change anything that doesn’t feel right. I will never have you try something I haven’t tried myself and believe will be helpful to you. You are not dealing with this alone. When we work together, you won’t just get a trained therapist, you’ll get someone who really understands how hard and scary this can be.
